Bed bugs have been in the news quite a bit lately. Don’t expect the news on the bugs to go away any time soon. Here is a summary of what has been in the news concerning the epidemic lately:
– Ohio is the most bed-bug infested state in the U.S.
– Three of the top 10 most infested cities are in Ohio, including Cincinnati. Four of Ohio’s cities are in the top 15.
– Pest control operators are petitioning the EPA to allow the use of Propoxur to be used in the fight against bed bugs. The product was banned for inside use in 2007.
– In nearly every case of homeowners trying to rid bed bugs on their own, the efforts have been futile, with little to no control of bed bug infestations resulting.
